Stage II...

..Begins!

I was lucky enough to find a complete '76 GL1000 GoldWing front end (forks, axle, triple tree, wheel, dual rotors, dual calipers and master cylinder) on ebay that was located right up the road in Thornton Colorado! Score!!

What's in a GL1000 upgrade: lighter aluminum front rim, dual rotors, more modern dual floating calipers, 37mm fork tubes (up from 35mm), wider stanchions and unlike the '77 CB750F, the wheel has spokes which retains that period look.

Here's a picture of the front end when I picked it up.

Below you'll see the '76 GL1000 forks w/lower triple tree, the two front brake rotors and the aluminum rimmed front GL wheel leaning against the '77 CB750. Calipers and other parts are on the blue plastic container in front of the bike. ...also my '96 Honda VFR750 "El Diablo Rojo" is just barely in the shot.
